Gordon Gunnarsen Psychotherapist

Time and Space for you to talk and think

Thinking about therapy or counselling?

Do you need a supportive, confidential space where you will not be judged, where you can go at your own pace and talk openly about yourself and your life?

Do you need to make sense of your difficulties in order to bring about lasting change?

If you need to understand and change aspects of yourself and your life, psychotherapy enables you to identify and work through the underlying causes of your difficulties.

It is an opportunity to explore who you are and who you want to be.

I am an experienced psychotherapist and supervisor with over 15 years’ NHS experience.

I provide private individual psychotherapy, couples and family work and groups to adults from my consulting room in Tilehurst, Reading, Berkshire.

I also offer online therapy via Zoom (with enhanced security options).

I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and am an accredited Mentalization Based Therapy Practitioner (MBT) on the British Psychoanalytic Council Roster.

I offer short and long term work with a wide range of issues – if it matters to you, it matters to me.

All my private work is supervised and insured.

People seek psychotherapy or counselling for a variety of reasons – sometimes they be able to describe feelings such as depression or anxiety; they may have previously received or researched diagnoses like trauma, PTSD, Personality Disorder or Eating Disorders; they may find themselves troubled by their thoughts or behaviours including self-harm; they may be struggling with confusion about their sexuality or gender or other aspects of who they are; or they may have reached a crossroads in a relationship, career or just in life.

Whatever the reason for seeking help, I can offer you time and space to think about your difficulties and to try to help you make sense of them.
